Bio
William Oldfield is a Law Clerk at Liberty & Freedom Legal Group’s New York City office. He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was involved in the Columbia International Arbitration Association, the Prison Health Initiative, and the Columbia Law Whiskey & Spirits Club.
William brings a wide range of legal experience to the firm’s special education practice, including previous roles as a Summer Associate at Vinson & Elkins LLP, a legal intern with the Center for Public Research and Leadership, and a paralegal at Chaffetz Lindsey LLP. He also held positions with the NYC Department of Correction and the Office of Congressman Lee Zeldin, deepening his experience in both public and private legal sectors.
He holds a Master’s in Politics, Violence and Crime from University College London, and a B.A. in Government from Cornell University, where he graduated with distinction and completed minors in Portuguese & Brazilian Studies, Crime, Prisons, Education & Justice, and Law & Society.
William’s diverse background in law, policy, and social justice informs his thoughtful, equity-driven approach to supporting families and students navigating special education systems.
